Going North

I'm at the moment applying for work (teaching and other stuff) in Trondheim, and in Finnmark, the northernmost county in Norway. One of the places I might end up is Nordkapp.

Honningsvåg

You can also see what's happening here LIVE. Oh look, there's a car! Endless excitement.

  2. PMSL. In the Polish town where mr Bani's grandparents live they have cameras placed in several locations, and the filming is broadcasted on a local tv channel, 24/7. So instead of looking out the window, you can turn on the telly. :P That's true small-town mentality, moving forward, into the future.

I agree with Syd - beautiful but chilly. Love the webcam - we'll be able to keep track of your every move!

  4. Syd: I suspect it IS chilly. I think the photo of Honningsvåg is taken during the height of summer...

Bani: That's just priceless! You got to love small town mentality - now and then... :-)

Roro: I know! At certain times of the day I can go down and wave to the web cam :-)

  5. Finnmark? That sounds just so, isolated somehow. But beautiful. What's your preference, Trondheim or out in the wild North? Or should that be even wilder North?

  6. I guess Trondheim is my preference, but I'm definately ready to go to the "wild North". I really like the people in this part of Norway, and their attitude/view of life. In my experience it's often relaxed and they have a great sense of humour. That probably helps during the long, dark winter, I guess:-) And the nature is stunningly beautiful, that's another reason I want to go.
