Coldest March in 48 years

The local newspaper says today that 1958 was the last time March was this cold in Trøndelag. Here's a picture from Røros that suggests that you should look for your warmest scarf and mittens. I'm going to make some hot cocoa now.

That picture is beautiful. Looks like a charming town. We don't get a whole lot of snow here in Mississippi. Like, every three or four years. sucks.

Wow - what a gorgeous picture. But you're right - it makes me want to knit furiously and drink hot tea. Maybe I should put some pants on first . . .

Oh, good...a reason to go and make myself some cocoa! Here it's finally warming up, and most (though not all) of the snow has even melted.

And, Røros looks beautiful...do you live near there?

Yes, it's a beautiful photo! Not mine though, the photographer's name is Arne R. Dahl, he works for the newspaper. I'm one of very few bloggers who don't have a digital camera, I think.

Syd: how about a swap? Trøndelag could get some Mississippi-weather, and you could get a bit of our winters. This morning we had 10 degrees Celsius below zero where I live. Røros had -31,5 degrees!

Roro: yes, put on some pants, or even better: make some tea and then go back to bed again:-)

Kimananda: Røros IS beautiful. It's an old mining town, with some of the oldest wooden houses in Europe. They celebrate New Year's Eve without the fireworks there...
I've spent many winter holidays in Røros, it is 2-3 hours by car from Trondheim, where I live.

Hey, I'll be going to Trondheim at some point, though no dates have been planned or anything...my boyfriend's uncle met himself a nice Norwegian girl and has they've been living there, raising a family, that sort of thing, for probably a few decades now. I'll be asking you all about it when the trip happens.

Sure, go ahead:-) I'll let you know what my favourite cafes are and stuff.
